At MFO, we are proud to announce the launch of the

Legacy Grant: Cornelia Babbage.

 

This $3,000 annual grant has been established in memory of our beloved colleague and friend, Cornelia Babbage, with a $1,000 contribution from her husband, Colin Babbage. Cornelia was known for her deep empathy, tireless advocacy, and unwavering belief in the power of people to create positive change. This grant honours her legacy by supporting projects and initiatives that make a real difference in the community.

 

We invite individuals or small groups with a dream, project, or initiative that fosters positive impact to apply. Together, we carry Cornelia’s light forward, helping others rise and continue the work she so passionately believed in.

 

Applications open: 14 October 2025
Applications close: 1 December 2025

Grant announcement: 15 December 2025

Eligibility

  • Individuals working on personal or community development projects based on the Gold Coast.

  • Grassroots or emerging community groups delivering inclusive, socially minded initiatives.

  • Open to all ages and backgrounds: there are no formal academic or residency requirements.

Application and Selection Process

​Application process:

Submit your application online or in paper form.

Include a short written statement or an optional video response outlining:

  • The purpose of the funding.

  • How your values or work align with Cornelia’s legacy.

 

Selection panel:

Applications will be reviewed by a panel comprising MFO staff and members of the MFO Management Committee.
