SAFE. EVERYWHERE. ALWAYS. Gold Coast Walk 2025

On 25 November 2025, the SAFE. EVERYWHERE. ALWAYS. Gold Coast Walk took place on the Gold Coast, coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the first day of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
We sincerely thank everyone who participated, raising awareness and standing together for a world where all women and girls are SAFE. EVERYWHERE. ALWAYS. This event honoured survivors, strengthened community awareness, and called for collective action to end violence against women.
The walk was organised as a partnership between:
Multicultural Families Organisation (MFO)
Gold Coast Centre Against Sexual Violence (GCCASV)
Domestic Violence Prevention Centre (DVPC)
These organisations support victim-survivors daily and advocate for women’s safety. The event also supported UN Women Australia, champions of gender equality and women’s empowerment in more than 100 countries.

The Iconic Gold Coast Multicultural Sunset Festival 2025

The Iconic Gold Coast Multicultural Sunset Festival was held on Saturday, 2nd August at Broadwater Parklands, marking the first time the event celebrated the community at sunset. Hosted by the Multicultural Families Organisation (MFO), the festival opened Multicultural Queensland Month and brought the community together to celebrate culture, connection, and diversity under the stars.
Visitors enjoyed four hours of non-stop entertainment, including live music, dance, and performances from across the globe. Highlights included Filipino singers, Brazilian dancers, Japanese taiko drummers, Middle-Eastern belly dancing, Capoeira, Scottish pipes, and a fire dancing finale.
The festival also featured a vibrant marketplace with handmade crafts and cultural treasures, interactive performances, children’s activities such as face painting and a jumping castle, and a wide selection of international cuisine from Vietnamese street food and Malaysian fusion to mini Dutch pancakes, Asian BBQ, and Slavic bites.
The event provided a memorable celebration of the Gold Coast’s multicultural community, showcasing the richness of global traditions and creating lasting connections through food, music, and culture.

What a Wonderful World: Slavic Festival of Children's Creativity and Talent 2025

On Sunday, 23rd November 2025, the Gold Coast hosted the very first Slavic Festival of Children’s Creativity and Talent: What a Wonderful World at Broadwater Parklands. Presented by the Svetoch Association with the support of Multicultural Families Organisation (MFO), the festival brought together families, young performers, and community members for an inspiring afternoon dedicated to culture, creativity, and connection.
Throughout the afternoon, attendees enjoyed a colourful concert program, an exhibition of handmade creative works, and a warm atmosphere that highlighted the talent and imagination of children and adults alike. The festival also featured music, performances, delicious food, and plenty of moments that reflected the richness of multicultural community life. Most importantly, the event succeeded in creating an inclusive space where culture was celebrated without division, honouring young people and their artistic expression.
MFO was proud to support the Svetoch Association in bringing this beautiful event to life. We are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside the organisers over the past few months and to witness the joy and unity that unfolded on the day.
Leaders of Positive Change Luncheon 2025

On 12 June 2025, Multicultural Families Organisation hosted the Leaders of Positive Change Luncheon at the Robina Event Centre. With the theme Bridging Generations, Strengthening Families, Supporting Change, the sold-out event brought together community leaders, sector experts, and local voices for an inspiring afternoon of reflection and connection.
The luncheon featured powerful stories and meaningful discussions led by our panel: Ross Tyler (Act for Kids), Abiola Albert (Palm Beach Community Mental Health), Brett Lush (Newlife Care), and community representatives Kibrom Gebremedhin and Logan Brooks, with Marica Ristic facilitating the conversation. We were honoured to open the event with a heartfelt Welcome to Country by Lann Levinge, followed by an impactful video presentation by Marcel Esdoros. The room was filled with energy thanks to performances by Kizuna Taiko, Cornerstone Chorus, and pianist Sam, each adding a unique and uplifting dimension to the afternoon.
MFO extends its sincere appreciation to our supporters: TAFE Queensland, Newhaven Funerals, Act for Kids, Councillor Dan Doran (Division 11), and Planet Fitness Southport, whose ongoing commitment helps strengthen our work in the community. Above all, we thank our attendees. Your engagement, openness, and dedication to positive change are what made this event truly special.
