The Multicultural Youth Symposium 2026 is a dynamic half‑day event designed to uplift and empower young people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. The symposium brings together youth, schools, community organisations, and specialist services to explore identity, belonging, cross‑cultural experiences, and the challenges and strengths of growing up multicultural in Australia.
This event creates a safe, inspiring space for young people to share stories,
connect with peers, and learn about the support available to them. The Multicultural Youth Symposium is organised by Multicultural Families Organisation (MFO) in partnership with Gold Coast Youth Service.
12th May, 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM | Broadbeach Cultural Centre | Morning Tea Included
What's Happening on the Day
Lived Experience Youth Panel:
Hear directly from multicultural young people as they share their stories about navigating culture, family expectations, cross‑generational differences, racism, belonging, and how they overcame challenges while building their lives in Australia—whether newly arrived or born here as second‑generation Australians.
Morning Tea + Youth Connection Space:
A relaxed break with multicultural music, social connection, and a chance for students and young people to network and make new friends.
Specialist Services Panel:
Local experts will discuss key issues affecting CALD youth, including mental health, education, settlement challenges, identity, and access to support.
Youth Support Hub: Service Stallholders.
Young people can speak directly with youth services, ask questions, and learn where to find help—confidential, safe, and youth‑friendly.
